Yuan Jiandong holds a doctoral degree. In 1992, he graduated from the Department of Chemistry, Peking University. He graduated from the State University of New York in 1998. From 1998 to 2001, he was a senior researcher of EnzoBiochem Inc. in the United States. Since 2001, he has been the

chairman and general manager of the company and the president of the Pharmaceutical Research Institute.

As the inventor of 269 patent applications (by the end of 2021), Dr. Yuan Jiandong, who led the research and development of several patent technologies of BrightGene, won the "China Patent Award" for "the synthesis method of antiviral nucleoside analogues".
